ATR (Aerei de Trasporto Regionale/Avions de transport regional) is a Franco-Italian aircraft manufacturer based at Toulouse Blagnac International Airport in Blagnac, France. The company’s focus is on the production of regional aircraft of up to 90 seats. The company was founded in 1981 through a joint venture between Aerospatiale, now known as Airbus, and Aeritalia, now known as Leonardo. Since then, the company has sold nearly 1,700 aircraft to over 200 operators in more than 100 countries. The company manufactures two sizes of turboprop aircraft: the 70-seat ATR 72-600 and the 50-seat ATR 42-600. Their aircraft are ideal for short-haul routes and known for their low operating costs. The aircraft fuselage and tail sections are produced at Leonardo’s manufacturing facilities, and the wings are assembled by Airbus France. Final assembly, flight testing, certification, and delivery is handled by ATR.

● Turboprop Aircraft: ATR designs and produces twin-turboprop, short-haul regional airliners such as the ATR 42-600 and ATR 72-600. The company also produces a STOL (short takeoff and landing) version of the 42-600 and a freighter version of the 72-600.
