FSG 53 Hardware And Abrasives

Federal Supply Group 53, Hardware and Abrasives, encompasses most hardware and abrasives, including even most specifically designed hardware and abrasives unless otherwise stated. Hardware are physical, tangible, and permanent components of end items commonly used in construction and/or manufacturing. Abrasives are materials, generally mineral, that are used to shape or finish a product by rubbing. This FSG includes specifically designed hardware such as commercial hardware and weapon systems hardware. Note that while FSG 53 does include most specifically designed hardware and abrasives, it does not include dental abrasives; fencing; bearings; or asbestos related equipment and material.
